Welcome To Chariteens Residential Family Centre

Who We Are

Chariteens Residential Family Centre is an Ofsted registered community interest company that, undertakes various assessments for vulnerable families. We assess parents and their children from the ages of 0 – 4 years old in a supportive and nurturing environment so that they achieve positive outcomes for their children/babies.

Our service provides parenting assessments, risk assessments and residential accommodation for six vulnerable parents and their babies where the Local Authority has concerns. We are primarily involved in producing evidence based parenting assessments, which are designed to inform decisions for the Courts and Local Authorities.

We accept parents from the age of 13 years up to 37 years. Our placements can either be a single assessment for a mother and baby or a joint assessment for a father, mother and baby. The families we have may have learning difficulties, drug, alcohol and substance misuse, and parents who are experiencing domestic violence. In addition we assess and support vulnerable expectant mothers by giving information, advice, guidance and counselling until the birth of the child.

We provide onsite specialists services with experienced multi-disciplinary teams of social workers, psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, drug and alcohol workers and family support workers.

We aim to provide assessments which are independent, robust, evidence based, child centred and detailed according to good practice and childcare legislation.
